Teaching...6 months in

From time to time, I like to casually draft about my life here in Korea and I obviously never add it to my blog so here are some thoughts I had 6 months in and never posted...now almost 8 months (1 more week! Geez! Time flies!)

6 months in...
I’ve learned that the simpler I am the better. Students understand more.
I’ve learned to become sterner, not mean.
I've learned how to take control of my classroom. I now know that I am in control of all situations and must be quick to handle them.
I have learned my way around the textbook and have learned different techniques of how to incorporate it into games, etc…

This semester I feel much more comfortable in my school. I know the ins and outs of everything. My students and teachers know me better and vice versa. They are able to communicate with me somehow; whether it’s through a few English words or me attempting to show off my Korean…they love it! I won’t sit here and say EVERY student likes me…that’s life! There will always be those who don’t. I’m not here for you to like me, I’m here to teach you, inspire you, and help you reach your full potential; maybe even pass that!

That's all I wrote! :)
