Ohhh! Miami, Miami, Miami! It's been 10 years now since I left New York to discover a new life. A "college life" that was. Thinking that I would go back after finishing my Bachelors, I never did. I fell in love with a place that kind of "fit me" and couldn't leave!
This is the place where I learned to become independent, learned what financial aid meant and when I'd get my refund check, how to live with roommates (blehhhhh!), what frat parties were the best to go to, how to decorate cookies :), how to study for hours in the library...also, how to fool around in the library when friends were studying. Hmm...how to go out 5 days a week with only $60 in my pocket after 2 weeks of work...how in the hell did I survive?!!! How to get into clubs for free with the best promoters. The certain months tourists came down. Where to get a $5 Cuban sandwich. How to entertain yourself when you're under 21 by going to Walmart at 1am. Making sure you stay hydrated while drinking on the beach. Things to bring to the beach. What time to get to the 6th street parking lot to guarantee you a spot.
I could go on and on and on...but I won't!
Let's just say I have a love/hate relationship with Miami, just like I do with New York. Overall, there are MANY MANY things I will miss about Miami.
HERE ARE SOME OF MY TOP ONES:
THE SKY! Coming from NY, you hardly see skies like this (how depressing). This is one the first things I noticed when moving down here. I'm a nature-type-a-girl so yes, I love the sky!
STEVE'S PIZZA!!! If you haven't had this pizza yet, you DO NOT know what you're in for! I'm a New Yorker and KNOW what good pizza is. THIS is good pizza! Oh, make sure to get the garlic rolls too!
You can find them at: 12101 Biscayne Blvd, North Miami, FL. Open till 2am on weekdays and 4am on weekends.....CRACK!
THE BEACH/RIDE DOWN TO THE BEACH! Now, THIS is the life! Even with the few hurricanes that pass, it's been great living 2 miles from beach!

PUBLIX! There's NO place like Publix! Every state should have one! Publix subs, pumpkin pie ice cream during the holidays, special pastries, cakes....and you can't forget the awesome service!
CUBANS! Okay, don't believe me! I WILL miss the Cubans and their history here in SOFLO. May I add their awesome food like croquetas and cafecitos?! Cuban words like "jabita" instead of "cubo" (plastic bin) and "oye que vola acere"? These people are one of a kind I tell ya!
WET WILLIES! What better to have on a hot summer day?! Go ahead and Call a Cab!
EVENING DRIVE TO WESTON! These were my favorite evening rides after a long day at work, school and gym. I'm going to miss seeing the Everglades and the sunset all in one!
